Homer B. Heitzenrater, 81, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Etta (Misner) Heitzenrater to whom he was married for 58 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 2, 2018 at St. David's E.C. Church, 2411 Oakland Road, Dover with his pastor, The Rev. N. Patrick Teaford officiating. Full Military Honors will be presented at 11:00 AM at the Church by York County Veterans Honor Guard. A viewing will be held from 9:30 - 11:00 AM Friday at the Church. Private burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens. Born July 18, 1936 in Nanty Glo, PA; a son of the late Walter Q. and Lottie (Whitsell) Heitzenrater, he was retired from National Federation of Independent Business. Mr. Heitzenrater was a member of St. David's EC Church and enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife. One of Homer's greatest passions was music, as he was a member of the Solid Rock Men's Gospel Group and a self taught musician. He was a veteran of the United State Marine Corps. In addition to his wife, Mr. Heitzenrater is survived by two sons, David G. and wife Jennifer Heitzenrater of York and Donald P. and wife Ruth Ann Heitzenrater of Garrettsville, OH; and a grandson, Reese W. Heitzenrater. He was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.
