RED LION-Holly K. (Goldman) Dodson, 59, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of Michael S. Dodson to whom she was married to for 37 years. A celebration of life memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with the Rev. Glenn M. Dietrich, D. Min. officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem United Methodist Cemetery, Windsor twp. Mrs. Dodson was born December 29, 1949 in Red Lion, a daughter of the late H. Leon "Lem" and Mary Dorothy (Schmuck) Goldman. She was a 1967 graduate of Red Lion Area Senior High School and continued her education at Kutztown University where she earned a B.A. in Sociology in 1971. For over 17 years, she was employed as a librarian at Kaltreider-Benfer Library in Red Lion. Holly was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling and vacationing at different beaches. Her favorite places to visit were Hawaii, and Rehoboth Beach, DE. In her spare time, she would often get together with her card club or her very close friends who called themselves "The Old Bags". In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dodson is survived by a daughter, Heather Holiday Dodson of Pittsburgh; a brother, Christopher Holliday Goldman and wife, Carol of Lynchburg, VA; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Christopher Dodson in 1997. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail N, York, PA, 17402 or Kaltreider Benfer Library, 147 South Charles St., Red Lion, PA 17356.
