RED LION- Hillard E. Grim, 83, passed away, Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Nancy (Barnett) Grim. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 12, 2015. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 West Broadway in Red Lion. His pastor, The Reverend Ronald L. Doverspike will be officiating at the service. There will be a viewing from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and a visitation from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, both at the church. Burial will be in Blymire’s U.C.C. Cemetery in Dallastown, with full military honors provided by Dallastown American Legion. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Grim was born in Dallastown on April 28, 1932, the son of the late Ralph A. and Bessie E. (Grove) Grim. He retired as an appraiser for the York County Assessment Office in 1994 after 33 years of service. Mr. Grim was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Red Lion and a member of Dallastown American Legion, Post 605. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Along with his wife, Nancy, Hillard leaves two daughters, Sharon Wise and her husband, Joseph of York and Kelly Baker and her husband, Donald of Brogue; four grandchildren, Desiree Hake (Brandon), Ryan Shaull (Sara), Colby Wise and Carly Wise; four great grandchildren, Braxton Hake, Cambelle Hake, Rebecca Shaull, and Jacob Shaull; and six sisters, Erma Tyson (Vernon), Hilda Eyster (Lloyd), Treva Blouse (the late Weldon), Fae Roth (Kenneth), Flo Hoffman (the late Dick), and Phyllis Seitz (the late Terry). Two brothers, Glenwood and Quentin Grim had preceded him in death. Memorial Contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion, PA 17356 or Heartland Hospice, 3417-C Concord Rd., York, PA 17402. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Heartland Hospice for their professionalism and loving kindness shown to Hillard and our family. We would also like to extend our thanks to Deanie King and her kind staff.
