Hilda Virginia (Kunkle) Arnold

RED LION- Hilda Virginia Arnold, 82, died on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at her residence. She was the wife of Sylvian E. Arnold to whom she was married 61 years.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Laura Holtzapple officiating. A viewing will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Luke Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Born on June 13, 1941 in York, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ellsworth and Effie G. (Kilburn) Kunkle. Hilda was a house wife and worked several years at church as an organist and housekeeper.

Mrs. Arnold was a member of the former Shenberger’s Chapel, Waters Edge United Methodist Church where she loved to play the organ and the Susquehanna Area Senior Center. She also enjoyed her trips to the mountains, the outdoors, feeding birds and her dogs and cats.

Along with her husband, Sylvian, Hilda is survived by her son, Steven Arnold of Dushore; daughter, Debra E. Taylor and her husband, Mike of Wrightsville; three grandchildren, Dana Schnick, Derek Parr and Aubree Steinhauer; eight great grandchildren, Caden Schnick, Riley Schnick, Maddox Schnick, Delaney Lewis, Mason Steinhauer, Kaylee Steinhauer, Chloe Parr and Nathan Parr; brother, Michael Kunkle and his wife, Diana of Dover; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ken Kunkle.
