Hilda M. Burns

Hilda M. (McGann) Burns, 87, of Pottsville died Friday evening at the Pottsville Hospital. Born in Branchdale, December 12, 1919, the daughter of the late Thomas and Ann (McGovern) McGann. She graduated from Pottsville Catholic High School. She worked in the textile industry. Mrs. Burns was a member of Saint Patrick Church, Pottsville, and was an officer for the ILGWA locally. Surviving is three sons Paul McGann, husband of Judy, Colorado Springs, Co; Thomas Burns, husband of Dianne, Swainton, N.J.; Bill Burbs, husband of Liddy, Schoentown; six daughters Ann, wife of Francisco Cardenas, New York,N.Y., Peggy, wife of Thomas Smith; Kathy, wife of Greg Jones; Denise, wife of Dan Stoner, all of Pottsville; Mary, wife of William Suplee, Valley Forge, PA; Erin, wife of, Mike Cahill, Mechanicsburg,PA; and several Grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, at Saint Patrick Church, Pottsville. Friends may call at the church on Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 9:00 A.M. till time of Mass. There will be no procession from the Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. to the church. The family would prefer remembrances to be made to Saint Patrick Church, 319 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
