Hilda L. (Johnson) Garverick

WILLIAMSPORT - Hilda L. (Johnson) Garverick, 84, a former resident of Sheridan Street and Almond Street, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at The Gatehouse. She was born on January 29, 1929 in Williamsport, daughter of the late Lewis and Catherine (Russell) Johnson. On September 05, 1964, Hilda was married to Charles J. Garverick; they celebrated forty-five years of marriage together before his death on November 08, 2009. She enjoyed ceramics, pets, and had a great love for people. Hilda is survived by her two daughters Patty Shipman of Polk City, FL, and Lawanda Berger of Granbury, TX; several grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband Charles, she was preceded in death by her son Ernest Craven. There will be a public viewing at the Allen and Redmond Funeral home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, followed by a prayer service by Sister Rita Naughton. Private interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Memorials in Hilda’s memory may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
