MILTON - Herman Ralph "Brownie" Brown, 79, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Emmaline (Barto) Brown. The couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on June 21, 2008. A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 102 Lower Market Street in Milton. His pastor, The Reverend Michael A. Druck and The Reverend William Gibson will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, both at the church. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery in Milton with a Veteran Military Detail. Dale E Ranck Funeral Service, Inc, 125 N. Front Street in Milton is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Brown was born in Danville on August 16, 1929, a son of the late Ralph G. and Thelma R. (Rishel) Brown. He retired in 1993 as a Foreman for American Home Foods in Milton after 40 years of service. Mr. Brown was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Milton, where he was a member of Sunday school class 36. He was a member of AARP, Knights of Malta, the former Ramblers Club, and a life member of 5th Ward Hose Company. He was a 1948 graduate of Milton High School. He played up right bass for Square Dances at Stamm's Dance Hall in Potts Grove and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and traveling with his family. He was a US Army Veteran who served in the 28th Armored Division in the Korean War. Along with his wife, Mr. Brown leaves four children, Dwayne Brown and his wife Lucille of Milton, Dana Eisley and her husband Thomas of Mystic, CT, Danette Weikel and her husband Steven of Mullica Hill, NJ, and Daniel Brown of Milton; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Judy Brown. He was preceded in death by a brother Paul R. Brown and his first wife, Barbara and a niece, Debra K. Wood.
