Herman K. Krause

COLUMBIA CROSSROADS- Herman K. Krause, 64,of Columbia Crossroads, PA passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at his home. He is the husband of Frances D. (Young) Krause, to whom he married on December 31, 1965. The couple spent forty-one happy years together. Services are private and are at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place with the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. Herman was born on July 9, 1942 in Callicoon, NY. He was the son of the late Herman Bert and Dorothy (Dexter) Krause. Herman was a retired U.S. Navy veteran and later a retired Corrections Officer for the New York Department of Corrections- Southport Correctional Facility. He also ran the family farm where he cared for his cattle and horses. More importantly Herman was a devoted family man, his life was spent caring for his family, friends, and neighbors. Herman is survived by his wife Frances, his sons; Keith (Mia) Krause of Columbia Crossroads, PA, Kyle Krause of Pittsburgh, PA, and Kraig (Danielle) Krause of Depot Bay, OR, his grandchildren; Kara Lynn and Aidan Hawke Krause, and his brother Darryl Krause of Narrowsburg, NY.
