Herbert G. 'Bud' Budesheim, Jr

Manheim—Herbert G. Budesheim, Jr., 80, died Monday, January 12, 2015 at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim. He was the husband of Joyce A. (Byrd) Budesheim to whom he was married for 56 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Rev. Galen Brumbaugh, Assistant Chaplain at Pleasant View Retirement Community will be officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Born August 12, 1934 in York, he was a son of the late Herbert G. Budesheim, Sr and Pauline M. (Conley) Budesheim. He was employed as a training specialist with York International for 47 years until his retirement in 2000. Following his employment with York International, he worked with Sea Solar Power for 4 years. A member of York International’s 25 Year Club, he was also a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and the Train Club of Pleasant View Retirement Community. He and his wife danced with the White Rose Square Dancers for 10 years and he was a 1952 graduate of York High School. In addition to his wife, Mr. Budesheim is also survived by one son, Matthew L. Budesheim and his wife, Sabine of Germany; two daughters, Beth A. Budesheim of Harrisburg and Jill B. Carew and her husband, Michael of York; two grandchildren, Matthias and Tobias Budesheim; one sister, Darlene M. Shockey and her husband, Robert of Lititz and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Keenan J. Carew. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community of Mt.
