Henry T. Uckele

POTTSVILLE-Henry T. Uckele, 93, of Pottsville, passed away Friday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center, East Norwegian Street, Pottsville. Born in Pottsville on January 17, 1920, he was a son of the late Henry and Mary Mueller Uckele. Henry was a 1937 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School. Henry was an Army veteran having served from 1942 til 1946 where he served in the European Theatre during World War II. Henry retired in 1985 from Pomeroy's Department Store, where he was the manager of the shoe department. Henry was a member of Saint Patrick's Church, Pottsville In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Ann M. Julian Uckele, who passed away March 1st, 2011; his sister, Margaret Elison; his three brothers, Charles, Joseph and Earl Uckele. Henry is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Scheetz, of Pottsville and Nancy Davis, wife of Bruce, of Columbie, MD; his son, Thomas Uckele, husband of Beth, of Wayne, PA; 7 Grandchildren, Melissa and Amy Scheetz, Stephanie Sutch, wife of Glenn, Shana and Tyler Davis, and Raine and Grayson Uckele, a Great Grandson, Anthony Davis; his sister, Mary Kemple, Scranton, PA; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 AM in Saint Patrick's Church, 4th and Mahantongo Streets, Pottsville. Family and Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM til 10:00 AM at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Garfield Square, 6th and West Market Sts., Pottsville. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. Memorial contributions may be sent to Saint Patrick's Church, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville.
