RED LION – Henry P. Herrman, 76, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. He was the husband of Kay L. (Rohler) Herrman to whom he was married for 52 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 45 First Avenue, Red Lion with Pastor Tim Funk officiating. A visitation will be held from 7-9:00 PM Monday, October 8, 2018 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Masonic Rites will be provided by Red Lion Masonic Lodge 649 at 8:30 PM Monday at the Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Red Lion Cemetery. Born January 25, 1942 in Red Lion, a son of the late Henry J. and Miriam E. (Stein) Herrman, he was a 1960 graduate of Red Lion Area High School. Mr. Herrman was the 4th generation owner of Herrman Printing Co. in Red Lion. He was a member of St. Paul’s UMC, singing in the choir and serving as a past trustee. He was a past member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 28 and a past volunteer for Leo Independent Fire Co. Mr. Herrman served his country in the PA Army National Guard. Mr. Herrman's community service included serving as a member of the Red Lion Municipal Authority for 38 years, Red Lion Borough Council for 2 years, Red Lion New Year's Eve committee, York County Rail Trail Authority as a founding member and serving over 20 years, and other local committees. Mr. Herrman was selected as the 2007 Catherine Meyer Award winner and received the 2016 Red Lion Mayor's Award. He was involved in numerous local civic organizations and was a former line officer in Red Lion Lodge #649 F&AM. In addition to his wife, Mr. Herrman is survived by a son, Jeffrey P. and wife Ratha Herrman of Red Lion; two granddaughters, Lindsey and Monica Herrman; a sister, Ann Sprenkle of Red Lion; one niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry J. Herrman, II; and a sister, Jane Herrman. Memorial contributions may be made to Red Lion Area Historical Society, 73 N Main St, Red Lion, PA 17356 or to St. Paul’s UMC, 45 First Ave., Red Lion, PA 17356.
