Henry M. Stover

York- Henry M. Stover, 79, died Saturday, August 2, 2008 at his home. He was the husband of Dora "Ruth" (Zinn) Stover to whom he was married for 56 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2008 at Faith United Church of Christ, 509 Pacific Ave., York, with the Rev. David Houseal officiating. There will be a reception at the church immediately following the service. Born June 2, 1929 in York, he was a son of the late Henry M. and Carrie May (Sipe) Stover. He is a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. He worked in machine maintenance at Caterpillar for 20 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member with the V.F.W. of Hellam and American Legion of Pleasureville. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and building grandfather clocks. In addition to his wife, Mr. Stover is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline and husband Jeffrey Jamison and Cindy Stover, both of York; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, B. Jane Pfleiger of Dover; and four nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother, Donald Stover. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.
