Henry L. Fornwalt

WILLIAMSPORT - Henry L. Fornwalt, 88, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Williamsport Home, with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Harriet U. (Winter) Fornwalt, who passed away on October 30, 2007. The couple married on February 1, 1948. They celebrated 59 years together. Henry was born on November 27, 1920 in South Williamsport, son of the late David A. and Pearl (Yohe) Fornwalt. He was a US Army Air Corps Veteran, serving in the Pacific during World War II and also serving in Korea during the Korean War. Henry worked in the Plumbing Maintenance Department of Lycoming College. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, the American Legion, and was a Free and Accepted Mason. Henry is survived by his sons, Carl A. Fornwalt of Muncy, Mark A. Fornwalt of Newnan, GA and Paul A. Fornwalt of Linden; his daughters, Sharon M. Di Michele of Trout Run, Linda J. Sheats of Deland, FL and Carol L. Harvey of Williamsport; his 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and his brother John A. Fornwalt of South Williamsport. His parents and his wife Harriet preceded Henry in death. The memorial service to honor Henry's life will be held at noon Sunday, March 22, 2009 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 142 Market St., Williamsport, with his pastor, Rev. Kenneth R. Elkin officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family in Twin Hills Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Henry may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 142 Market St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to the Williamsport Home, 1900 Ravine Road Williamsport, PA 17701.
