Henry Crail "Harry" Gordon

YORK – Henry Crail “Harry” Gordon, 83, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Country Meadows at Trolley Road. He was the husband of Ellen “Helen” (Burns) Gordon to whom he was married for 59 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Pastor Donald Wagner officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Chapel. Born October 5, 1932 in Warrenpoint, Northern Ireland, a son of the late Henry C. and Esther (Wright) Gordon, he was a Mechanical Engineer having served his apprenticeship at Harland & Wolff Shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Harry retired in 1998 from ACCO, Inc. after 32 years of service. Mr. Gordon was a dedicated volunteer and crewman on the S.S. John W. Brown Liberty Ship. As a young adult Harry was a King’s Scout and enjoyed racing motorcycles in Trials and Scrambles as well as fly fishing. In addition to his wife, Mr. Gordon is survived by two sons, H. Crail Gordon, Jr. and wife Linda of Manheim and R. Aaron Gordon of York; three grandchildren, Maura, Alexander, and Daniel Gordon; and a brother, William Wright Gordon of York.
