Helen Wolfgang

Pottsville- Helen Wolfgang, 98, formerly of Tremont, passed away Friday morning at the Hospice of Lancaster County Mount Joy Facility, Mount Joy, PA. Born in Swatara, Riley Township, on August 24, 1912, she was a daughter of the late David and Sarah Richards Oswald. She retired in 1969 from the former Morris Waupner Garment Factory, Tremont. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Tremont. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur C. Wolfgang, who passed away in 1989; her three sisters, Elizabeth Kohler, Mary Herman and Jeanne Harrison; three brothers, John, Donald and Thomas Oswald. She is survived by her two daughters, Judith Birunas, wife of Albert, of Lancaster, and Mary Zimmerman, of Perkiomenville, PA; her five grandchildren, Virginia Schnupp, Larry and Craig Birunas, Kevin and Christa Zimmerman; her 7 Great grandchildren; her 5 Great -Great grandchildren; her sister, Ruth Ochs, of Pottsville; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 A.M. at Schuylkill Memorial Park Chapel, Route 61 South, Schuylkill Haven. Reverend Maureen Duffy-Guy will officiate. Family and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the chapel. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
