Helen Tillotson

WELLSBURG, NY - Helen Tillotson, Age 87, formerly of Myslivecek Road, Lowman, NY passed away Monday, March 1, 2010 at Elderwoods, Waverly, NY. Helen was born March 13, 1922 in Elmira, NY daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Skach) Myslivecek. She was a graduate of Breesport High School. Helen and late Morrell "Barney" Tillotson were married August 23, 1940. Together they worked their potato farm. Helen and "Barney" donated the property that now is home to Lowman Little League. In her spare time Helen catered weddings specializing in wedding cakes. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Helen was a member of the Baldwin Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Chemung County Farm Bureau. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gerry and Doris Tillotson of Lowman, NY, daughters and son-in-law, Arlene "Sue" and Edward Barhite of Groton, NY and Karen Tillotson of Waverly, NY, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Helen was predeceased by her parents, husband Morrell Tillotson, son Jack Tillotson and brother, Frank Mislivecek. Family and friends are invited to call Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Her funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 12 Noon with Reverend Kevin Miller and Reverend Anne Mowery officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
