RED LION- Helen Naomi (Frey) McCleary, 97, of Windsor Township passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of William Clair McCleary who passed away March 20, 1984. She was born March 16, 1919 on the “road to nowhere” (Kohler Rd.), off Furnace Road, Felton, PA. She was the daughter of the late Amos W. and Verna (Emenheiser) Frey. She began her employment with a couple of cigar factories in New Bridgeville, got married and moved to E. High Street in Red Lion until they moved to her present home in 1944. For many years she cleaned eggs and dressed chickens and sold them. Clair milked cows and she cleaned the milking equipment. She was a longtime member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Red Lion. She enjoyed bus trips to various locations. Mrs. McCleary is survived by her daughter, Linda Fisher and her husband Roy; a granddaughter, Whitney Torbert and her husband Richard “Rick”, a great granddaughter, Riley Torbert, a step grandson, Robert “Bob” Fisher and his wife Elizabeth, a great grandson, Michael; and a great granddaughter, Abigail. Also surviving is her sister, Mauna Loa “Money” Frey and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn F. Bacon; and two brothers, Dallas W. Frey and Darryll H. Frey. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 W. Broadway in Red Lion, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Her pastors, The Reverend Ronald Doverspike, Reverend Dale Russell, and Pastor Pat Beckum will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Red Lion. A reception at the church will follow the cemetery services. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Ascera Care Hospice and extend our thanks to Almost Heavenly Home Care, Sue Neff and the co-workers: Brooke, Carole, Chris F., Chris Y., Dot, Kim, Linda, Lynn, Penny, Sharon, Tina B., Tina C., and Gayle.
