Helen M. Frantz

YORK- Helen M. Frantz, 88, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011 at York Hospital. A celebration of life memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with Father Robert F. Keffer officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery. Ms. Frantz was born on March 30, 1923 in York, a daughter of the late Victor J. and Josephine P. (Kwiatkowski) Frantz. Helen was a 1941 graduate of William Penn High School. Helen worked as a secretary for Fairtex Mills, Inc. and American Chain & Cable Co. Most recently she worked as a Personnel Manager for Sears Roebuck and Co. in Allentown until her retirement in 1985. Ms. Frantz was a member of the Golden Nuggets, Silver Sneakers and the Sears Retiree Association. She enjoyed knitting and playing cards with her friends every Saturday. Ms. Frantz is survived by a brother, Edward Frantz and his wife, Patricia of York; two nieces, who were like children to her, Nancy Mastrian and her husband, James of Cleveland, OH and Holly Bell and her husband, Gordon of York; and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor Frantz and Louis Frantz; and two sisters, Martha Shettle and Genevieve Goodling.
