POTTSVILLE- Helen M. Edmonds, 79, of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday at her home. Born in Pottsville on July 26, 1932, she was a daughter of the late William and Catherine Tritschler Rhody. Helen was a 1950 graduate of Pottsville High School. In Addition to raising her children she worked for the former Stoner Tile, Pottsville and the Pottsville Area Agency on the Aging. Helen was very active in all church functions at her former church, Christ Evangelical Congregational Church, Pottsville and her current church, Grace Evangelical Free Church, Cressona. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Laurin W. Edmonds, who passed away February 15, 2007. She is survived by her three daughters, Ellen Scharadin, wife of Gary, Linda Cerullo, wife of Martin, and Gail Matto, wife of William “Bud”, all of Pottsville; her 6 grandchildren, Lori Horst, wife of David, James Scharadin, husband of Renee, Peter Scharadin, and his girlfriend, Sarah Connors, Bradley Matto and Kathryn “Katie” Cerullo; her 8 Great grandchildren, Dana, Andrew and Jacob Horst, Makayla, Thomas, Peter and Michael Scharadin, and Aaron Cartwright; her two sisters, Betty Strausser and Catherine Lang, both of Pottsville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M. at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Streets, Pottsville. Reverend Randy Ott will officiate. Family and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Evangelical Free Church, 101 Graeff Street, Cressona, PA 17929. Online condolences may be sent to bestlifetributes.com.
