Helen M. (Charleston) Elicker

YORK – Helen M. (Charleston) Elicker, 91, passed away, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at York Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late William H. Elicker. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 3293 Broad Street, Emigsville, with her pastor, The Rev. Stephen W. Yambor officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born October 20, 1922 in York, a daughter of the late Ralph C. and Laura E. (Hake) Charleston, she was a graduate of North York High School. Mrs. Elicker retired in 1975 from American Chain and Cable Co. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church where she sung in the choir, taught Sunday school, and served on Church Council; was active with ACCO Social Club Retirees; and was a member of the former Manchester Twp. Lioness Club where she served as treasurer; and was a former member of AARP Golf group at Briarwood Golf course. She also was active with LSS Ladies Auxiliary and North York Women’s Club. Helen and William enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. Their travels took them throughout the US, Hawaii, Alaska, and all over the world. Mrs. Elicker is survived by eight nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Charleston and John Glenn Charleston.
