Helen L. (Mundis) Wantz

Helen L. (Mundis) Wantz, 94, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Russell L. Wantz, Sr. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. Judith McKee officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born July 28, 1922 in York a daughter of the late Harry A. and Ellie (Lehr) Mundis, she had worked in various sewing factories as a young woman. Helen later retired from Dentsply, Inc. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Shiloh American Legion and Hellam VFW Auxiliaries, Dentsply and A.B. Farquhar Retiree groups. Helen enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends and her German Shepherds. Helen is survived by a son, Russell L. Wantz, Jr. and wife Kathy Dietz of York; three grandchildren, Michele Wantz, Vicki Sleeger, and Wayne Little; five great grandchildren, Briana, Garrett, Keegan, Rebecca, and Rachel; a sister, Betty Rudacille of York; and a niece, Lottie Burkheimer of York. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Mae Little; a granddaughter, Beth Ann Little McCleary; four brothers, Ralph, Melvin, David, and Harry “Leroy” Mundis; and three sisters, Sylva Waltemyer, Verna Walton and Goldie Ball.
