Helen (Joseph) Hladio

LARKSVILLE - Helen (Joseph) Hladio, 86, formerly of York, passed away Wednesday at Keystone Garden Estates, Larksville. Born in Wilkes-Barre on October 12, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Elias and Sophia (Saba) Joseph. She was a graduate of G.A.R. High School. Helen was active in community fund raising while residing in York. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hladio, who passed away July 25, 1997; brothers Michael, James, Robert, Alfred and Leo; and sister, Louise Molnar. Surviving are her brother, John Joseph, Hanover Twp.; sisters Marie Jacobs, Wilkes-Barre and Martha Joseph, Pittston; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Very Reverend David Hester will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Keystone Garden Estates and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the care they gave to Helen.
