Helen I. (Dellinger) Lighty

York—Helen I. (Dellinger) Lighty, 84, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services—Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late John F. Lighty with whom she was married for 65 years. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM, Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Immediately following the viewing a Graveside Service will be held at Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, Chanceford Township with Chaplain Wesley Mast of Heartland Hospice officiating. Born July 31, 1928 in Lower Windsor Township, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Daisy M. (Ruby) Dellinger. She was dedicated to her family as a loving homemaker and after her children were grown, she worked at the Brogue Cigar Factory for several years. An avid shopper, she was also an excellent cook and enjoyed playing bingo. Mrs. Lighty, is survived by two sons, Ben Lighty and his wife, Birdie of E. York and Brice Lighty and his wife, Angela of Grapevine, TX; three daughters, Linda Abel of York, Connie Silar of Craley and Glenda McCarty and her husband, Harlan of Florida; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Preston Lighty; two son-in-laws, Gary Silar and Abraham Abel; two brothers, Jacob Dellinger and Gerald Reichard and one sister, Charlotte Workinger In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 3417-C Concord Rd, York, PA 17402.
