Helen F. (Young) Haddad

York—Helen F. (Young) Haddad, 88, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at York Hospital. Born March 28, 1926 in New Castle, Helen was a daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Mae (Patton) Young. Helen was married to William T. Haddad, and they enjoyed 68 beautiful years together. Known for their great love, Helen and Bill have been an inspiration both to family and even to new acquaintances who have been touched by their very special devotion and tenderness toward one another. Together, they built their lives around their family and truly treasured each brother, sister, child, grandchild, and niece or nephew. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Haddad is also survived by three children: Thomas J. Haddad and his wife Maureen of Downingtown, Karen S. Capodici and her husband Bernard of Doylestown, and Nancy H. Blevins and her husband Kent of Stewartstown; nine grandchildren, Joseph, David (Stephanie), Jeffrey, and Cara Haddad; Alia and Kira Capodici and Reina Guarini (Justin); and Jason (Danielle) and Natalie Blevins. She also leaves behind five precious great grandchildren, Madison Meanix and Phoebe Haddad, Lola Pastore, and William and Asher Guarini, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Miller and Peggy Zeigler. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6 PM, Saturday, March 28, 2015 (Helen’s birthday) at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with her pastor, the Rev. Greg D. Seckman officiating. Friends and family are welcome to visit with Helen’s family from 5 - 6 at the funeral home just prior to the service. Helen was a constant and great friend to children; so in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
