Helen E. (Chilcot) Conklin

LOCK HAVEN - Helen E. (Chilcot) Conklin, 88, a former resident of Castanea passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at Susque View Home where she resided since 2011. She was born September 26, 1924 in Clearfield the daughter of the late George and Reba (Geise) Chilcot. Helen was married to Donald D. Conklin, Sr. who died in 1984. She retired from Woolrich after several years and then worked as a bartender at the Castanea Fire Hall. She was a former member of the VFW, American Legion, Son’s of Italy, Eagles and Castanea Fire Hall. Helen enjoyed shopping, game shows and was an avid football fan and enjoyed reading. Surviving are four sons; William C. (Sylvia J.) Conklin of Castanea, Donald D. (Deborah) Conklin, Jr. of Bradford, CT, Richard L. (Jacqui) Conklin of Lock Haven and James M. and his companion Ed Yepez of Albuquerque, NM. three daughters; Connie L. Yorks of State College, Sandra K. Heverly, Alexandria, PA and Esther M. (Terry) Barner of Mill Hall. 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, Two sisters Jean (Robert) Gallagher of Avis and Ruth (Fred) Page of Dunnstown. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, five brothers Charles, Paul, Dick, Bob and Jim also a sister Doris Walizer. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with the Rev. Bruce Wallace officiating. Friends and relatives will be received from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at Dunnstown Cemetery.
