Helen C. Raess Helen C. Raess, 78, of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. Born in Mount Laffey on January 19, 19129, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Florence Brennan Motley. Helen attended Pottsville Schools. She worked for the former Onyx Blouse Factory, Pottsville for many years, she then retired from the United Cerebral Palsy, Pottsville. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church, Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Helen Raess; her grandson, Timothy Matz; her brother, John Motley. Helen is survived by her daughter, Karen Matz, wife of Tony, of Port Carbon; her two sons, John Raess, husband of Maryann Price, of Pottsville and Brian Raess, of Bellefonte, PA; her three Grandchildren, Jennifer Raess, Jason Raess and Tony Matz; her four Great Grandchildren, Indiana Raess, Andrew Matz, Flynnagan Raess and Colin Matz; her four sisters, Bernadette Hughes and Margaret Smith, both of Pottsville, Joan Olstein, NJ and Catherine Schleupner, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11:00 A.M. from Mary Queen of Peace Church, Pottsville. The Rev. John W. Bambrick will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the Church. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Timothy J. Matz Memorial Fund, c/o Pottsville Are High School, 16th St. & Elk Ave., Pottsville, PA 17901.
