Helen B. (Wallick) Lyons

YORK- Helen B. (Wallick) Lyons, 101, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2011 at Rest Haven. She was the wife of the late George W. Lyons who passed away on January 30, 1989. The couple wed on January 7, 1949. A funeral service will be 12 noon on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church, 37 N. Broad St., York, PA 17403, with Pastor Judy M. Bupp and Pastoral Assistant Steven Cowfer officiating. A viewing will be from 11-12 prior to the service at church. Burial will be held in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lyons was born on September 8, 1909 in York, a daughter of the late William and Bertha (Gentzler) Wallick. Helen worked for Elisenlohrs Cigar Factor and later helped out with child care. Mrs. Lyons was a life member at Grace United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the former Sons & Daughters of Liberty and AARP. Mrs. Lyons is survived by two daughters, Mary Reath of York and Beryl Boyer and her husband, Robert of York; three grandchildren, Susan Conner, Linda Boyer and Bonnie McBride; three great grandchildren, Sarah McNeil, Margaret Conner and Harry McBride; and a sister-in-law, Sara Lease. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce Wallick and Clair Wallick. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 37 N.
