Helen A. (Johnson) Trout

RENOVO - Helen A. Trout, age 88, a former Renovo resident, died at Somerset Hospital on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010. She was born In Greensburg on February 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Frank E. Johnson Sr. and Anna Hays. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1940, and after marrying Gilbert L. Trout on June 25, 1948, became an excellent homemaker. Gilbert preceded her in death on March 3, 1991. Helen was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Somerset and was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Renovo. She loved gardening, both flowers and vegetables, was an excellent baker, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. A major portion of her time was spent attending the Somerset Senior Living Center almost every day. She is survived by her sons: Gilbert (Bonnie) Trout Jr. of Truxton, N.Y., Dennis (Ann) Trout of Renovo, Gerald (Terry) Trout of Spring Glen, Pa., and Steven (Carol) Trout of Harrisburg. Also surviving is her daughter and son-in-law, Teri (Robert) Kolonich of Somerset with whom Helen resided for the past 17 years. They provided excellent care giving for her while she was with them. Helen has nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and a brother: Frank E. (Mae) Johnson Jr. of Irwin, Pa. and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers: John and William and her sisters: Sarah and Anna. Funeral services will be held at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo, Pa. at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 with Rev. Robert Pickering officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in North Bend Cemetery.
