Heinz Winkler

Heinz Winkler Heinz Winkler, 88, of Pottsville, passed away on Wednesday morning at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. Born in Hamburg, Germany on May 21, 1919 he was the son of the late Arthur and Caroline Schaeffer Winkler. Heinz retired in 1979 from Conrail after 37 years of service as a conductor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Neuin Winkler, who passed away in 1988; his brother, Herman Winkler. He is survived by his two daughters, Roberta Mahler, wife of Thomas, of Millsboro, DE and Louise Hufnagle, wife of Donn, of Mar-Lin; his two sons, Carl Winkler, husband of Marge, of Crownsville, MD and Edward Winkler, husband of Linda, of Dublin, MD; his 9 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 A.M. at the Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville. The Rev. Brian Reading will officiate. Friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Leukemia Society, Eastern PA Chapter, 2 International Plaza- Suite 245, Philadelphia, PA 19113. Interment will be held in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
