DALLASTOWN - Hazel M. (Linburg) Snyder, 91, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Shrewsbury. She was the wife of the late Glenn L. Snyder who passed away on May 16, 1994. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Sister Joy V. Hovis, Chaplain at Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born February 4, 1919 in Seven Valleys a daughter of the late Ernest E. and Marian L. (Brillhart) Linburg, she retired from York Hospital in 1983 after 10 years of service. Prior to working at York Hospital, Mrs. Snyder owned and operated Johnson's Telephone Answering Service and worked as office manager for Dallas Veneer Co. in Dallastown. She was also a licensed realtor in York and became the first woman to sit on the Board for the York County Board of Realtors. Mrs. Snyder loved pets and raised Red Tabby Persian show cats. She was an avid reader and always possessed a positive attitude and looked forward to living each day to the fullest. Hazel was also a life-long member of Christ Lutheran Church of Dallastown and taught Sunday school in the Children's Department for fifteen years. Mrs. Snyder is survived by two daughters, V. Lorie and husband Walter Romesberg and Mary Kathryn and husband Jack Nagle both of Dallastown; two sons, Robert G. and wife Linda Snyder of Federal Way, WA and John L. and wife Jahn Snyder of York; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a sister in law, Ruth Linburg; a niece; a nephew; and cousins. She was preceded in death by a grandson, John L. Harner; and two brothers, William and Robert Linburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406 or to Kaltreider-Benfer Library, 147 South Charles St., Red Lion, PA 17356.
