Hazel L. (Fravel) Ferry

LOCK HAVEN - Hazel L. Ferry, age 87, passed away at her residence on Weds. March 30, 2011. She was born in Lock Haven on August 22, 1923, a daughter of the late Charles S. and Minnie (Hiney) Fravel. Hazel attended the Church of Christ in Flemington, was an avid piano player and singer, and loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She was a member of the Mothers of War Veterans group, and in her younger years, worked as a waitress at Henrys Restaurant and a customer service representative at Sears and Marshall Fields. Surviving are her sons: Gerald L. Smith of Elgin, Ill. and Chalmer D. (Sunya) Smith of Lock Haven. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Albert Ferry in August, 2007, a son: James, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Elder John Harvey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memoris are requested to the Clinton Co.
