RED LION – Hazel F. (Olphin) Young, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Manor Care – Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late Charles Young. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Chaplain Wesley S. Mast officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery. Born September 27, 1922 in Felton a daughter of the late Alverta J. (Keesey) Olphin and Bertus W. Olphin, Jr., she worked had worked in cigar factories from age 18-62. She retired from House of Windsor in 1980 and had worked at Wolf’s and Federal Cigar Co. Mrs. Young also took care of elderly in their homes for 10 years. She was a member of both Red Lion VFW and Dallastown American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries. Mrs. Young is survived by a daughter, Virginia Warner Kachnycz of Windsor; daughter in law, Phyllis Warner of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Robin Fritz Phelan and Christine Fritz Franco both of Pittsburgh, Kelly Fritz Bandel and husband Todd of California, Joy Ann Kachnycz Davenport of York, and Todd Warner of Maryland; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene R. Warner; a son in law, Richard Kachnycz; three brothers, Paul, Jack, and Vernon Olphin; and two sisters, Ruth Smeltzer and Freda Brenneman. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 3417 Concord Rd., York, PA 17402. Be happy for me. I'm going to be with the Lord and my family. Some day we will all be together. Trust in the Lord.
