Hazel Elizabeth (Sprout) Russell

DALLASTOWN- Hazel Elizabeth (Sprout) Russell, 84 died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services in Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Geary O. Russell. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Family of God Community Church, 147 First Ave. in Red Lion, with a visitation from 10:30-11 a.m. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Russell was born in Lancaster on June 1, 1930, the daughter of the late Samuel R. and Martha E. (Jourdan) Sprout. She enjoyed singing and traveled to various areas with the Russell Family Gospel Singers. She also worked in the day care at the former Lighthouse Community Church. Mrs. Russell was a member of the former Lighthouse Community Church, now Family of God Church in Red Lion. Mrs. Russell leaves two sons, Thomas G. Torbert of Fawn Grove and Timothy J. Russell of Wrightsville; three daughters, Shirley Hanna of Lebanon, Linda Warner of Hayward, WI, and Sandra K. Eaton of Seven Valleys; a step son, Geary E. “Gene” Russell of York; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren. A brother, Richard Sprout had preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Family of God Community Church, 147 First Ave., Red Lion, PA 17356.
