Red Lion — Hazel D. (Ham) Immel, 76, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Donald W. Immel with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage on December 31st. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Zion United Methodist Church, 1 North Main Street, East Prospect with her pastor, the Rev. Albert R. Horst officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8 PM, Monday and 10-11 AM, Tuesday, at the church. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born October 22, 1935 in Lansing, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late James and Gertie L. Ham. She was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to everyone. A member of Zion United Methodist Church in East Prospect, she was also part of the church’s Piecemakers Quilting Group. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, quilting and was a skilled seamstress. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Immel is also survived by two sons, Eric A. Immel and wife, Karen, of Red Lion and Dwayne L. Immel and wife, Linda of East Prospect; one daughter, Cindy L. Workinger of York; eight grandchildren, Tammy Hirschhorn, Cathy Scaruzzi, Brandy Meyer, Timothy Workinger, Justin Immel, Kyle Immel, Amanda Immel, and Emily Immel; four great grandchildren, Miles and Zoie Glatfelter and Chase and Carson Meyer; one brother, Howard; four sisters, Kathleen, Geraldine, Madeline and Violet and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Gary Workinger and two sisters, Doreen and Brenda. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, PO Box 305, East Prospect, Pa 17317.
