DOVER – Harvey C. Lippy, 63, of Dover Twp., died at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Karen L. (Sipple) Lippy with whom he celebrated a 43rd wedding anniversary on May 18, 2012. A private Celebration of Life service will be held by the family at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Lippy was born February 9, 1949, in Hanover. He was the son of the late Paul R. and Myrtle V. (Zepp) Lippy. He was a 1967 graduate of York County Vocational Technical School through William Penn Senior High School and was a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ. He was a life-long meat cutter beginning his career at the former J. Fred Fischer’s in York as well as at their stands at Eastern and Central Markets. He also worked at the former ACME in York and Jerry’s Great Valu in Red Lion where he had been employed for more than 20 years. For many years he had been an active member of the West York Boys Club’s baseball and basketball programs and was a former West York Borough Zoning Officer. He enjoyed using his talents to help family and friends with home improvement projects and for leisure enjoyed boating at Lake Aldred on the Susquehanna River as well as spending time with his family camping at Gambler’s Camp Ground at Indian Steps. He was also a member of the Viking Athletic Association. In addition to his wife, Mr. Lippy leaves his two sons, Todd Lippy and wife, Alison of West York, and Jonathan Lippy and wife, Jessica of Langhorne; two grandsons, Ethan and Ryan; and a brother, Robert Lippy and wife, Doris of Dallastown. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Burdette and Kathleen Schiding. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue, Inc., 2 Heritage Farm Dr., New Freedom, PA 17349.
