Harry R. Probst

ALTOONA - Harry R. “Mooch” Probst, 62, a former resident of Westport and Renovo passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh where he was a patient one day. He was born November 1, 1955 in Renovo a son of the late Herbert E. Probst, Sr. and Catherine (Baysore) Probst Simparosa. He was Methodist by faith. Harry was a member of the Carpenters Union, American Legion and the Eagles. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends around the campfire telling stories. He loved riding his motorcycle and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Harry is survived by two daughters; Jessi (Shane) Quigley of Altoona and Jenny (Jeromy) Horner of Pleasant Gap and a grandson Fletcher. Also surviving are seven brothers; Fred Probst of Clearfield, Harvey (Kim) Probst of Mill Hall, Randy Probst of Somerset, Rob (Terri) Probst of North Bend, Rick (Ada) Probst of Lock Haven, Danny (Jean) Probst of Trout Run and Herb Probst of Jersey Shore also four sisters; Deb (Robert) Clarke of Ephrata, Brenda Probst Frear of Wilkes-Barre, Ruby (John) Schmidt of Ephrata and Linda Butler of North Carolina. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. Harry was preceded in death by a sister Tammy Probst and a brother Hilary Probst. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo with Martha Sykes officiating. Friends and relatives will be received from 1:30 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers.
