Harry L. Haughney, Sr. Harry L. Haughney, Sr., of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in St. Clair on September 30, 1920 he was the son of the late Harry and Lucy Muldowney Haughney. He was an Army veteran having served during World War II. He was a 1939 graduate of St. Clair High School. He worked for Evans Delivery, Schuylkill Haven for over 40 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Merriel J. Hoppe Haughney, who died December 26, 2006; his two sisters, Lucy Cooper and Julie Grace. He is survived by his three daughters, Diane D. Kriner, wife of Robert, Chatham, PA, Sharon L. Bonawitz, wife of Edward, Trumbull, CT and Carol S. Chizmar, wife of Michael, Pottsville; his son, Harry L. Haughney, Jr., Pottsville; five Grandchildren, Robert Kriner, Jr., Tamra Barone, James J. Kriner, Greg Bonawitz and Ashley Rydecki; 11 Great Grandchildren; his brother, Francis Haughney, St. Clair; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. Friends may call on Friday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville and also on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the Church. Entombment will be held in St. Ambrose Cemetery Mausoleum, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N.
