Harry John Lazorek

YORK - Harry J. Lazorek, 93, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at York Hospital. A memorial mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 231 S. Beaver Street, York, PA 17403, with Fr. Samuel E. Houser officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Lazorek was born July 17, 1916 in New York, a son of the late Harry and Theresa (Karelman) Lazorek. He was employed by a major hospital in New York City, where he worked in the maintenance department. After he retired, he moved to Montrose, PA until 2002 when he relocated to County Meadows, York. Mr. Lazorek was a U.S. Army Veteran serving his country during WWII. Mr. Lazorek is survived by a brother, Frank Lazorick and wife, Anna; two nieces, Joan Coons and husband, Robert, all of York, and Francine Reese and husband, Richard of Etters. He was preceded in death by a brother John Lazorek, and a niece Patricia Steinerd. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Rosa Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market Street, York, PA 17401.
