Harry G. Alleman

MONT ALTO, PA – Harry G. Alleman, 87, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at Rest Haven – York. He was the husband of the late Mildred M. (Ruth) Alleman to whom he was married for more than 50 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with full military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 PM Friday and 1-2:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Shippensburg. Born October 1, 1923 in Shippensburg, a son of the late Harry O. and Helen (Kling) Alleman, he had worked in the printing industry his whole life and was a Master Printer at Regency Thermographers. He was a member of Waynesboro VFW and Waynesboro United Methodist Church. Tech Sergeant Alleman was a flight engineer and top turret gunner in the US Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Mr. Alleman is survived by a son, William M. and wife Judy Alleman of York; two daughters, Roxann S. Alleman of Tucson, AZ and Gretchen E. and husband Larry Willis of Sykesville, MD; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Vandermark of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry L.
