YORK- Harry Cooper, 85, of York Twp., passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Kathleen “Kate” (Johnson) Cooper. The couple celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on January 27, 2015. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion with a visitation from 1-2p.m. The Reverend Frederic G. Stevenson will be officiating at the service. Mr. Cooper was born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire County, England on September 13, 1930, the son of the late Charles Arthur and Clare (Joynson) Cooper. He was a certified mining engineer in Stoke-on-Trent, England who moved his family to the US in 1973. He retired from American Chain and Cable in York and then worked for Pacer Pumps in Lancaster. Harry was a member of St Andrew’s Episcopal Church in York and the Hawk Mountain Bird Sanctuary. Along with his wife Kate, he leaves a son, Timothy William Cooper and his wife Anne of San Diego, CA and their children Benjamin Pierce Cooper and Simon Joynson Cooper; a daughter, Philippa “pip” Hiden and her companion Ramon Ferrer of York Township and in addition Pip’s English bulldog, Dirk will sadly miss grandpa. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Cooper.
