Harry Arthur Snyder

YORK- Harry A. Snyder, 74, died on Saturday February 27, 2010 at Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Nancy L. (Greene) Snyder. The couple wed on August 14, 1954. A service will be 10 a.m. on Thursday March 4, 2010 at the Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, PA. A viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Tombs Run Cemetery. Mr. Snyder was born on November 27, 1935 in Jersey Shore, PA., a son of the late Shem and Madeline (Berger) Snyder. He worked as an Avionics Troubleshooter for Schweizer Aircraft in Elmira, N.Y., where he retired from in 2000. Mr. Snyder was the Financial Secretary of the local union at Schweizer Aircraft. He enjoyed photography, bird watching, traveling, and his cats. He was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Along with his wife, Nancy, Mr. Snyder is survived by two sons, Scott Snyder and his wife, Theresa of Linden and Brad Snyder and his wife Diana of San Antonio, Tx; four daughters, Cindy Lighty and her husband, Michael of York, Sherri Hoover and her husband, Tom of Loch Haven, Dawn Gardner and her husband, Bob of Jersey Shore, and Debbie Smith and her husband, Dan of Windsor; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Steve Snyder and his wife, Peggy of Avis; a sister, Terrie Younkin and her husband, Dezi of Jersey Shore.
