Harold V. Heffner

DILLSBURG - Harold V. Heffner, 86, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Manor Care - Camp Hill. He was the husband of the late Ruth L. [Stuart] Heffner. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 21, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Pastor Roy H. Stetler, IV officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with Full Military Rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born February 5, 1922 in Lower Windsor Twp. a son of the late Howard and Anna [Keller] Heffner, he retired as a welder from the Pipe Welder's Union. He was a member of Dillsburg VFW and American Legion and enjoyed working with his hands building homes, as a mechanic, and doing woodwork. Mr. Heffner had also held his private pilots license and loved traveling. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, having been in Pearl Harbor when it was bombed by the Japanese. He also was awarded two Bronze Stars during his military service. Mr. Heffner is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. Stetler of Dillsburg; three grandchildren, Ruth, Ben, and Josiah Stetler.
