Harold Strobel

WILKES-BARRE-Harold "Buster" Strobel, 90, of Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in Kingston Commons. He was born in Wilkes-Barre Township on March 29, 1916, son of the late Harry and Emily (Evans) Strobel and was educated in Wilkes-Barre Township Schools. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was previously employed by City Major as a truck driver and retired in 2006 from the American Red Cross where he worked as a security guard for the Krayer Detective Agency. He was a former member of Laurel Run Primitive Methodist Church. His wife, the former Irma Oney, died July 7, 1997. His siblings, Charles, Joseph, John, Edward, Harry, Margaret Jones, Catherine Reily and Stella also preceded him in death. Surviving are his daughter Agretha "Joyce" (Strobel) Brown, Pittston; grandchildren, Laura Brown and Thomas Cook; cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be private.
