RED LION- Harold Edmund “Ed” Kline, 81, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at York Hospital. Services for Mr. Kline are private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born on December 30, 1935 in York, he was a son of the late Harold and Phyllis (Anstine) Kline. Ed was the co-owner of County Line Quarry, formerly Kline's Quarry, Inc. for 50 years, partner of Wrightsville Realty and was currently employed by Heffner Funeral Homes. Mr. Kline was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Red Lion where he served on various committees for over 50 years. Ed was a member of the F&AM Riverside Lodge #503. He enjoyed playing the drums, shooting trap all over the U.S., beating the best of the best and was the farm “foreman” of White Oak Farms. Along with his life partner, Kay L. (Behrensen) Herbst, Ed is survived by three daughters, Susan Smith and husband, Michael of Windsor, Pamela Sylo of York and Madelyn Hoffman and husband, Garth of York; seven grandchildren, one great grandson; and his sister in law, Joan Kline of East Prospect. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Kline; and his brother, Richard Kline. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist, 45 First Ave., Red Lion, PA 17356.
