Harold E. Deardorff

LEWISBERRY- Harold E. Deardorff, Sr., 76, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of Edna M. (Lenker) Deardorff. The couple wed on July 24, 1954. A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry with Reverend Yvonne Rulli-Butler officiating. A viewing will be from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Emanuel Cemetery. Mr. Deardorff was born on January 18, 1934, a son of the late William F. and Edna (Albright) Deardorff. Harold worked for Kinsley Construction Company as an Equipment Operator until his retirement. Over the years he received many safety awards at Kinsley. Mr. Deardorff was a member of Good Sams Camping Club. He also enjoyed hunting, both archery and rifle, camping and restoring old Farmall Tractors. Along with his wife, Edna, Mr. Deardorff is survived by a son, Harold E. Deardorff, Jr. and his wife Bessie of Lewisberry; three daughters, Roxanne L. Farrell of Lewisberry, Marsha M. Wade and her husband, Stanley of York and Debra K. Steigerwalt and her husband, Blaine of Enola; 10 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Deardorff and John Deardorff.
