TROY - H. Gertrude Huntington, Age 88, of Springfield Township, PA, passed away Saturday, February 20. 2010 at the Bradford County Manor. Gertrude was born April 25, 1921 in Sayre, PA daughter of the late Harvey and Emily (Weaver) Stethers. She was married to the late Wayne L. Huntington and was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her memberships included the Republican Women of Bradford County and the State of Pennsylvania, Committee Woman for the Bradford County Republican Party and the Springfield Ladies Aid. She attended Big Pond Methodist Church and in her spare time enjoyed crocheting, making dolls, crafting and found great joy in babysitting her grandchildren. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne & Judy Huntington of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, John & Esther Huntington of Gillett, PA, her daughter and son-in-law, Robin & Ed Joyce of Dillsburg, PA, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband Wayne L. Huntington, brothers, Jim Stethers, John Stethers, sister Catherine Peters and stepdaughter, Carolyn Huntington, predeceased Gertrude. Family and friends are invited to call from 12 to 2 PM Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr, Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. Her funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 2 PM with Reverend Richard Noggle of the First United Methodist Church of Troy officiating. Interment will follow in Harkness Cemetery, Springfield Township, PA. Memorials are directed to Guthrie Hospice, RR1 Box 154, Towanda, PA 18848 or to the Republican Party.
