H. Gene Fultz

Dover--Harold Gene Fultz, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Born on May 9, 1934, in Smithfield Township of Huntingdon County, PA, Gene was the son of the late A. Russell and Edna Wakefield Fultz. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Edna Hertzler Fultz. They were united in marriage July 2, 1955, at Ennisville Methodist Church, McAlevys Fort. He was also preceded in death by two brothers Donald and Robert. He is survived by two brothers Gerald and Kenneth. In addition to his brothers, he is survived by his four loving children: Debora of Dover, Stephen and his wife Virginia of Dover, Stanley and his wife Debra of Jacksonville, FL, and Janice Brunner and her husband Clayton of Wellsville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by special friends Steve Pearce, and Dave and Deb Barkby. He was a graduate of Huntingdon High School and Thompson Business College. Gene worked for Phillip Friedman and Associates as an accountant for 8.5 years, then worked for Dentsply International as an internal auditor until his retirement in 1991 after 23.5 years. He continued to do accounting and tax preparation in his home office until his passing. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after 3 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gene provided many years of volunteer service for organizations such as the Heritage Valley Federal Credit Union, Green Lea Cemetery, and Dover Union Fire Company. A Viewing will be held from 6-8PM, Thursday July 20, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11AM, Friday July 21, 2017 at Mount Union Cemetery, Mifflin Co. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the A. Russell Fultz Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 33, Mount Union, PA 17066.
