H. Corey Brown

CORYLAND- H. Corey Brown, 85, of Coryland, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at the Troy Community Hospital. He was the loving husband of Norma (Ward) Brown. The couple married on November 21, 1945 and had 62 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Corey's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday morning at the funeral home with Pastor Myra Goss of Coryland Church officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery. Corey was born on July 19, 1923 in Coryland, PA, the son of the late Lewis H. and Bertha (Benson) Brown. He was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1941. Corey and Norma were farmers in Coryland for many years. He was an over 50-year member of Trojan Lodge #306 of Free and Accepted Masons, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Troy. In latter years Corey and Norma spent much of their time helping maintain the Troy Fair grounds. Corey is survived by his loving wife Norma, his sons; Gary L. (Denise) Brown of Dover, DE, and Wendell C. Brown of McMinnville, TN, his daughter Kathleen B. (Lawrence) Marynak of Cary, NC, his grandchildren; Christopher Brown, Amy (Brett) Marynak Merrick, Kristy Marynak, and great grandson Paul Lawrence Merrick, his brother Rexford L. (Freda) Brown of Wellsboro, PA, his sister Dorothy Eighmey of Troy, PA, along with several nieces and nephews. His parents and his brother-in-law Verle Eighmey preceded Cory in death.
