Gwendolyn Mae Freeman

YORK – Gwendolyn Mae (Goff) Freeman, 82, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at York Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene – York City Campus, 350 Chestnut St., York. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Friday, January 31, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York and from 1-2:00 PM Saturday at Stillmeadow Church – York City Campus with Minister Rose West officiating. Private burial will be in Trails End Cemetery, Crawley, WV.

Born August 28, 1942 in Leslie, WV; a daughter of the late Samuel and Florence (Kelley) Goff, she graduated high school in West Virginia and then attended West Virginia University. Mrs. Freeman retired from the United States Postal Service after 32 years of service. She was a member of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, enjoyed gardening, and loved nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Freeman is survived by two sons, Brad R. and wife Ruth A. Freeman of York and David W. Freeman of York; four grandchildren, Falan and husband Christian Fanning, Chontelle Freeman, Krystynne Washington, and Keith Jones; two great grandchildren, Mase David Lee Freeman and Dolyn Erik-Francis Fanning; and three brothers, Wilbert Goff of Washington, DC, Samuel and wife Mildred Goff of Capital Heights, MD, and Floyd Goff of York.
