Gwendolyn L. (Walker) Stodgell

VALLEJO, CALIFORNIA – Gwendolyn L. (Walker) Stodgell, 89, passed way Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Autumn House East in York, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Francis M. Stodgell. Services will be private at the request of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Stodgell was born September 7, 1921 in Bedford, Iowa, a daughter of the late Jarve and Cora Maude (Leeper) Walker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Vallejo, CA. She was an avid bridge player, belonging to several bridge clubs. Mrs. Stodgell enjoyed camping trips and traveling all over the world with her husband. Mrs. Stodgell is survived by a son, Ronald Stodgell and wife Joy of York; one grandchild, Theodore R. Stodgell and wife Larisa of Trinity, Alabama; one brother, Dean Walker and wife Lynn of Branson, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Dinota and husband Edward of St. Leonard, Maryland, and Evelyn Bracht of Bowie, Maryland.
